Producer's Note: "The Blue Vipers of Brooklyn released their debut album, “Forty Days & Forty Nights” in 2007. The band’s sound is heavily influenced by classic New Orleans jazz and blues with hints of early rhythm & blues and Western swing. The delicate balance of washboard percussion, guitar, bass, horns and sweet vocal harmonies conjure up an intimate acoustic performance. Listening to this album, I am instantly transported to the band busking on a busy NYC subway platform. Vocalist Billy Nemec’s forlorn delivery of the title track tells a compelling tale of love lost. “Forty days and forty nights without my baby’s hand. 40, 40, just like the label on my malt liquor can.” This catchy melody will be surely be stuck in your head for equally as long. - Jesse"
